Newly Released
Robléon Syrah 2008
Tasting notes: Dark as night…inky…this is a wine that tells you something at first glance. The nose carries the theme, offering concentrated dark fruit and smoke. You know there is meat on the bones of this wine before you taste it, and when you do, it delivers. Roasted smoked meat wrapped in a blanket of plum, blueberry and cassis. There is serious structure here, but the tannins are well managed and offer graphite rather than bitterness. Not for the faint of heart, this is a full throttle wine that is none the less elegant, possessing a finish that is both long and complex.
Robléon Roussanne 2009
Tasting notes: An excellent example of the variety, this wine offers a beautifully forward nose of lemon cream and honey, leading to a range of tropical fruit flavors blended with honey, almond and spice on the palate. The texture is rich and full and the finish exceptionally long, evincing a balance that speaks to age-ability. Broad enough on the palate to blend with flavorful foods, yet elegant enough to be enjoyed on its own, this is a beautiful wine.
Roussanne is the white wine that can think like a red. Our suggestion – open and let it breath for 1-2 hours before enjoying. Serve chilled, not cold.
